I like my guy friend..what should i do?

My friends been telling meh we make a cute couple and dat he likes me...I have started dis crush on him but he told me he likes my other friend so I know he doesn't like me.my friends kept going on wit it and it got annoying so I text him last week and asked him if he like meh he responded "no I don't wat ur friends said is retarted"I wanted to do it face to face but I just didn't know how we have never seen eachother out of school.I wish he like meh but idk if he's lying or sayin da truth....we're always laughin and gettin along and makin jokes and just havin a good time but is it just friendship??even last year the teacher announced in cl that we are bf and gf and everybody startin doin dat ooohhh thing....we wher so emberred!wat yuh guys think...should I tell him sum??
