I think Hedwig was a huge character to die. Mad Eye, Fred, Lupin, Tonks, Dobby, Bellatrix and of course Voldy. They are all main characters. 2nd - No idea. Maybe Neville. He showed a true character change in his last few years at Hogwarts. 3rd - It was stated in the 5th book that most pure blood families are related in one way or another. James was a pure blood. 4th - Harry's cloak was described as a veil from "Death". 5th - It was inherited, but I think that is left up to your imagination. Just my opinions.
